Day 31: Happy Halloween!!

Bethany put on a great Halloween party for the kids today!

There was bobbing for apples...

Not too sure about it at first...

...but they figured it out pretty quick!

These guys just liked splashing =)

There was the eat-the-donut-off-the-string game...

After the fact...

There were balloons...

There was dancing...

And of course, there were lots of cute kids!!

Like I said, it was a great party! =)

Well, I guess its time to hang up my hat for the Octography Challenge (Novembography doesn't have quite the same ring!) Its been a lot of fun...slightly time consuming, but fun, and I've learned a lot!!

I hope to keep the blog updated a little better with regular Photography Challenge posts! And check back soon for the St. Louis posts! Happy November!

Day 30: Halloween Par-tay!

Day 29: Mongo!

My uncle took this picture so I can't take credit, but it pretty much HAS to be the picture of the day!!

Here is my grandma in part of my uncle's Prince Mongo halloween costume!!!

This cracks me up so much everytime I see it!!!

Photography Challenge #7: "Octography" Mini-Challenge, Day 28

Day 28: Just some random pictures from today...

I decided to do a little experiment to find out how far I walk during the school day. Since I have back-to-back 30 minute sessions all day and I go get my kiddos from their classes (from their 3-story school building!), I know I do a lot of walking in a day. I was curious to find out exactly how much that would add up to. Here is what the pedometer said when I got in the car this afternoon:

3.6 miles...that counts as exercise, right?? Ironically, after I had walked by a class out at recess a couple of times, the teacher came up to me and said "Bless your heart, you have to do so much walking!" I didn't tell her about my little experiment but I did think it was pretty funny that she said that today.

In other news...look what I got back today!!

So good to be able to drive my own car again!! Its been in the shop almost a month! Lesson learned: don't get your oil changed at Wal-Mart because they may put the wrong fluid in the wrong place and it may do $1000 of damage to your car that will take a long time to get fixed!

And apparently Wednesdays are Ladies' Day at the place where I got my car fixed. I don't really get it, but whatever! When I picked up my car they gave me a rose. Cool thanks.

And now for the cute pics...I just caught the tail end of Trunk-or-Treat at church tonight but I got to see these guys. 

They are some cute little pumpkins, no bones about it! (Sorry couldn't resist.) =)

Photography Challenge #7: "Octography" Mini-Challenge, Day 27

Day 27: C's Dinosaurs

'C' is one of my students who I just really love. He is autistic and he is super smart about anything prehistoric. Do you want to know what a pterodactyl ate? He can tell you. Want to know how much a brontosaurus weighed? He can tell you. And anything else you ever cared to know about that time period. Its amazing how much he knows! He is such a fun kid. One thing that he loves to do (and is really good at!) is make dinosaurs out of aluminum foil. Its amazing how detailed he makes them! When I asked him if I could take some pictures of his dinosaurs he was more than a little excited to make some.

He also made a woolly mammoth...at one point I called it just a mammoth and he told me, "actually its a woolly mammoth"...

He said, "You want me to make you a brontosaurus too?" I said, "Ok" =)

When I told him thank you for making the dinosaurs for me he said, "No problem. If you ever need me to make you some more you know where to find me." Too funny!

When I get bogged down by the demands of a huge caseload, it is nice to be reminded of the uniquely individual talents and abilities of my kiddos.

Day 26: Downtown

The good thing about doing the Octography challenge is that it gives me an excuse to actually go take pictures of things on the list of things in my head that I've been wanting to take pictures of (hmm...not sure if that sentence made any sense...). Anyway, downtown was one of the places on that list.

It seems kind of appropriate that the old cobblestones are peeking through the road in front of this place
