Assignment #2: Capturing Expressions

In a way, this could be considered my first "photography challenge" because I took these pictures before I started this blog. However, when I took these pictures I had a specific "challenge" in mind: to capture genuine facial expressions (this is the assignment from chapter 1 of this book). If ever there was an expressive group of kids, this would be it!! I love this family! They moved to Memphis from Sudan about three years ago, and I am amazed by how well they have adjusted and all they have learned in that time. It was a blast (and also a little crazy!) taking these pictures and the kids really seemed to enjoy it too. I took these pictures not long after I got my S3 so the pictures are definitely not the best quality since I wasn't all that familiar with the controls yet. Even though the pictures are not the best technical quality, I still like the genuine expressions and emotions they capture.

I know this is not an expression but I love her cute little feet! The little kids
