Assignment #1: Close Ups

This week's (edit: month's -ha!) assignment is to get up close to your subject. Pick an everyday object and focus on a small part of it. Get as close as your camera will allow you to focus and shoot away. Try for different angles and unusual lighting to add to the mystery of this tiny world. From the whiskers of your pet cat, to a fragile Christmas ornament, to soap bubbles, there is an entire world that we often overlook because we don't get close enough.

I can tell that this blog is going to challenge my perfectionistic tendencies! I keep trying to get THE perfect pictures but I have to remind myself that the point of this blog is to PRACTICE, and practice makes perfect-not practice is perfect! So here goes!

These pictures were taken during Thanksgiving break at home! Oh how I miss green plants and warm weather year round!

Any guesses of what this is?
Some condos on the golf course

Yes I realize this is disgusting but also a little cool...
Speaking of lizards, can you spot the lizards in this picture?
What trip to Florida would be complete without a picture of Lucky??

This little assignment helped me discover the super macro function on my camera and I LOVE it!

Great pictures!!! Except for the one of Lucky... :) Do I win a prize if my guess is correct on that one picture?? Is it a hairbrush??

Oh, and you should do another post when you complete the assigment, I didn't even know you had updated this until I saw you had posted "Assignment #2" and was thinking, "Wait a minute! She never even completed Assignment #1"!!

Wait a MINUTE!! I just looked back at that picture and it is DEFINITELY not a hairbrush! If it is, you have one nasty brush! :)
